I wanted to remind all Rock Hill Middle School students and guardians that in order to complete remote learning registration, you must have your remote learning contract signed and submitted to our secretary, Michelle Simpson, by this Friday, August 28, 2020. Calling in alone to request to be a remote learner does not register a student. Follow the steps listed on the Rock Hill Middle School webpage. Forms can be printed from the webpage or can be picked up at the middle school office. Registered remote learning students will be contacted by their teachers on August 31st.
Just a reminder to all Rock Hill High School students:
If you have called in and requested the remote learning option, that does not mean you are registered. You must follow the directions on our high school webpage and a parent/guardian, along with the student, must bring the contract to our high school secretary, Mrs. Lena Dawson. Once you have completed those steps, you will be enrolled into our remote learning option. If you do not have a printer, Mrs. Dawson will have a copy of the contract available for you to sign. This must be done before this Thursday, August 27th.
This is a reminder to all middle school students that have chosen the remote learning option for the 2020-2021 school year, you must turn in the completed enrollment paper work to Michelle Simpson by August 28th. Failure to do so will result in your child being marked absent.

Board Meeting Agenda 8/17/20
We spoke of the lunch box ban yesterday at the office. I think it was left in the plan after we determined kids could bring book bags due to no lockers given. It was simply an oversight. I see no reason why lunch boxes can’t be brought to school. Hope that helps.
2020 School Year Opening Letter
Update from Laura Kelley: Personal attendants do not need to report on August 17th. Initial personal attendant training for the 2020-2021 school year is scheduled for August 25th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the RH Board office.

Preschool Reopening Information
FYI Rock Hill, I have asked for a virtual “Meet the Redmen” to be organized. The challenge has been accepted. Details of this process will be organized through each team. This may take a couple weeks or so to be completed. Just wanted to let you know that our Redmen and Redwomen will be recognized. Would love to do it up big like we always do....but....well you know. Go Hill!!!

The Rock Hill Local School District Board of Education will hold its meeting on August 17, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office, 2325a County Road 26 Ironton Ohio, with some or all board members participating remotely via remote technology. While the public will not be permitted in-person access to the Board meeting, the public may access the Board of Education meeting via livestream. Anyone can view the meeting on Rock Hill Local School District facebook page.

As you probably already received a call regarding postponement of high school and middle school sports, I just want to clarify that we did have a positive case among our student/athletes. We were unable to be in contact with the health department so I made the decision to suspend all sports at Rock Hill until further notice to be on the safe side. Anyone that knows me knows this is the last thing I want to do. Hopefully Monday we can get further guidance from our local health department. This suspension may not affect all teams after that consultation. Sorry for any inconvenience.
