FYI Rock Hill, I have asked for a virtual “Meet the Redmen” to be organized. The challenge has been accepted. Details of this process will be organized through each team. This may take a couple weeks or so to be completed. Just wanted to let you know that our Redmen and Redwomen will be recognized. Would love to do it up big like we always do....but....well you know. Go Hill!!!
For all students that have chosen the RHHS Remote Learning option, you must go to the Rock Hill High School page on the district website and follow the directions to officially register. The high school secretary, Lena Dawson, must have a signed copy of the remote learning sign off sheet by Thursday, August 27th, 2020. Thank you. Go Hill.

As you probably already received a call regarding postponement of high school and middle school sports, I just want to clarify that we did have a positive case among our student/athletes. We were unable to be in contact with the health department so I made the decision to suspend all sports at Rock Hill until further notice to be on the safe side. Anyone that knows me knows this is the last thing I want to do. Hopefully Monday we can get further guidance from our local health department. This suspension may not affect all teams after that consultation. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I wanted to give a shoutout to our middle school nurse, Lisa Bolner and wish her a Happy Nurses’ Week. Thank you for helping to keep our students well.
The Rock Hill Middle School Administration would like to wish its teachers a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week. Our students are blessed to have you as their teachers, coaches and role models. Words cannot express my appreciation I have for this wonderful group of teachers.
The Rock Hill High School Administration would like to share some important information and dates regarding the end of the school year for all students. Students will be scheduled according to class to clean out lockers and turn in items that belong to the school. Seniors will have different instructions than underclassmen, so please adhere to the guidelines below. When students are on our campus, we strongly recommend wearing facemasks and gloves. Given the circumstances, we would just like to take every precaution to keep everyone safe. Underclassmen will not be required to return their chromebooks at this time, due to the possibility of students needing them at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. The following dates are key:
Seniors – Wednesday, May 6th (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Juniors – Wednesday, May 13th (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Sophomores – Thursday, May 14th (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Freshmen – Friday, May 15th (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Pick Up/Drop Off Instructions and Checklist
• Students will enter the front doors (no more than 5 in the building at one time). A staff member will be monitoring the students entering the doors.
• Inside of front doors students will drop their completed work packets in boxes labeled by grade level. Seniors will drop off Chromebooks AND Chargers.
• Students will report to their lockers to clean them out. Please place trash in trashcans in the hall.
• Students will bring and place textbooks by each teacher’s doors.
• If you need to turn in library books place them in front of the library.
• If you need to pick up belongings from the Art Room, Band Room or Locker Room you can do it at this time.
• Students will leave the building through doors near the Math Wing.
• When seniors leave they will be able to pick up their cords for graduation, a gift purchased by the district, and FCA notebooks. We need all seniors who attend Collins Career Center to report to RHHS on May 6th, as well, between 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
• A student checklist will be available as a reminder of the things the students will need to finish before leaving.
• If your assigned day does not work for you, please contact Mr. Gue at sgue@rockhill.org and he will do his best to help accommodate.
• It is our goal to see every student within the school on his/her assigned date
**All Items Remaining In Lockers Will Be Cleaned Out On Monday, May 18th**

As you know, we’ve been faced with some difficult decisions, but we will always strive to make these decisions with student and community safety as our top priority, while taking necessary precautions based on guidance from our leaders. The Class of 2020 is special. It is near and dear to our hearts. We want to honor this Class in a way they deserve. The fact is, they deserve much more than we would ever be able to give them with all they have had to endure…all they have had to miss out on. I say all of that to inform you we are going to do the very best we can, given the circumstances, to honor our graduates with a ceremony we believe will be both memorable and safe. Before moving forward with our plans for graduation, I’d like for you to read the attached link from the Ohio Department of Education which explains a big part of our reasoning for the way we are proceeding (with both graduation and our recent decision regarding prom): http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Student-Supports/Coronavirus/Graduation-and-Recognition-Ceremonies
We have planned to hold a “Drive-Thru Graduation” for the Class of 2020, as ODE has advised not to postpone or delay major activities. Therefore, graduation will occur on the originally scheduled time and date which is Sunday, May 17th, at 2:00 P.M. Due to the fact that we won’t be having an actual ceremony where people can be gathered on this date, we will also be filming and preparing for a virtual graduation, where all families can hopefully be together and watch remotely. The virtual graduation is set to premiere on Saturday, May 23rd, at 6:00 P.M. The virtual graduation will be very similar to a traditional graduation, complete with ‘Pomp and Circumstance,’ the National Anthem, Invocation, Welcome, Valedictorian Speeches, Senior Video, Administrative Comments, a video of students receiving their diplomas at the drive-thru, as well as many more memories.
Guidelines for Drive-Thru Graduation on May 17, 2020
-The Drive-Thru Graduation Ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 P.M. (Entrance will be open at 1:15 P.M.)
-In order to follow the guidelines set forth by our Governor with regard to the current pandemic, we ask that all members of each vehicle (with the exception of the senior getting out to accept his/her diploma) remain in the vehicle for the duration of the Drive-Thru Graduation Ceremony.
-Each Senior graduating will be limited to one vehicle for the ceremony (family/friends will be in the vehicle with the Senior).
-In order to accommodate all Seniors and keep the traffic flowing, there will be one entrance and one exit with cones setup outlining the path to the Senior accepting his/her diploma. The only entrance will be the last entrance to school grounds on County Road 26 (the entrance at the end of Rock Hill Middle School). Staff will be helping in different areas to answer questions and assist with maintaining a consistent flow of traffic.
-When the Senior gets to the beginning of the long drive in front of Rock Hill High School, the student with his/her family will be asked to move forward when it is appropriate and will proceed to the front of the main entrance (office area). At this point, the vehicle will stop and only the graduating Senior will get out of the vehicle and accept his/her diploma from Rock Hill Local School Board President, Mr. Mark Harper. Mr. Ed White and Mr. Robert Stevens will be taking pictures to capture the event and will want to get a few pictures of the Senior at this time. They will also be announced and recognized according to their honorary title (Valedictorian/Honor Student/etc.) at this time. After pictures are taken, the Senior will move his/her tassel from the right side to the left, signifying he/she is now a Rock Hill High School Graduate. What an incredible honor!! He/She will then get back in the vehicle and follow the path to the exit.
-Along with a diploma, each student will receive several copies of the graduation program inside his/her passport and a rose.
-We think it could be fun to see vehicles decorated in an appropriate way in support of this amazing Class.
-We realize this is not the ideal situation, but we have to act in accordance with the guidelines set forth before us and believe this will be an enjoyable way to honor our graduates!
-Our hope is that if restrictions happen to lessen by mid-July, we would love nothing more than to host a huge celebration for our Seniors and their families.
-Any Senior that has not sent his/her baby picture and Senior headshot to Mrs. Capper needs to do so as soon as possible or it will be left out of the virtual graduation! Her email is lcapper@rockhill.org if you have any questions or are having problems getting it to her. Please let her know so we can help you!
-If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to email me anytime at sgue@rockhill.org. I miss you all and look forward to honoring you…and hopefully, celebrating more at a later time!
Love. Serve. Care.

The Rock Hill Middle School Administration would like to share important information regarding the end of the school year. Firstly, students will be scheduled days by grade level from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm to clean out lockers, and turn in items that belong to the school. A system will be established where 3 kids at a time may enter the building, maintaining social distancing, and following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. We strongly encourage students to wear masks and gloves while on the school campus. This may sound extreme, but the RHMS administration number one priority is the safety of our students. Please allow for possible delays when bringing your child to pick up their belongings as we will be maintaining a strict 3 student at a time guideline, no parents or guardians will be permitted to enter the building with their child.
May 13th – 8th-grade students
May 14th – 7th-grade students
May 15th – 6th-grade students
All items in lockers must be out before May 18.
In addition, students will not submit their Chromebooks to us this year. We believe this is necessary in case remote instruction should occur at the beginning of the next school year. It is important that students still follow the RHMS handbook and the acceptable use policies throughout the summer in regards to the usage of their Chromebook.
Please follow Redmen Live, the Rock Hill Local School District website, and pre-recorded phone messages for updates on technology-based events like the RHMS NJHS induction, RHMS Awards Day, and the 8th Grade party. Thank you, please continue to take care of yourself, your family, and loved ones.
