The following is a joint message from both District and Building Level Administrators. At this point, it goes without saying, there has been a great deal of thought put into how we approach educating our children in one of the most trying times our nation has ever witnessed. The response we have seen from our staff, in all areas, has been nothing short of amazing. This community rallies together in difficult times like no other community in the world. We would like to express our gratitude for all that continue to play a part on a daily basis in meeting the physical needs of our students, as well as the academic needs. We will continue to strive to make this happen in the best way we know how.
Over the course of the last three weeks, our building teams have been working hard to prepare next steps with regard to the next phase of instruction for our students. Earlier this week, those plans were circulated to our community. We are sending this message now to let you know those plans have changed. After careful consideration and thinking through what this process was inevitably going to look like, we continued to go back to our number one priority, which is student safety. We simply do not feel comfortable transmitting student work back and forth at this time. The last thing we would ever want to do would be to put you or your child in jeopardy with the threat of catching this virus.
At this time, hard copies of the work that had been assigned will not be collected and we will not distribute new paper copies. We believe there is too much risk involved with this process. Therefore, all student work moving forward will only be available online. We realize this is absolutely not ideal, but everyone's safety is our number one concern. Each building's plan may look a little different, but the administrators at each school have put together a brief guideline for students and families to follow with regard to the overall district response to our current situation. Those plans are provided below:
RHHS: Students please continue to check emails and google classroom. Continue to communicate with your teachers regarding any questions you may have concerning work that has been assigned. All assignments, moving forward, will be posted online. If you have questions, please email your teachers. Our staff is available everyday via email. If you need additional resources or have additional questions as far as school is concerned, please feel free to contact Mr. Gue (sgue@rockhill.org) or Mr. Kidd (bkidd@rockhill.org).

To submit your students’ work from the previous three weeks, please take photos or scan the assignments and submit those to the teacher’s email. If you are unable to use email, there will be additional information communicated at a later date on how to submit those assignments. If you have questions, please email your teachers. Our staff is available every day via email. If you need additional resources or have additional questions as far as school is concerned, please feel free to contact Mr. Owens or Mr. Howard.
